| Steven Tyler (Aerosmith) said something once about how there won't be anymore "superbands" like The Stones, The Beatles, and Aerosmith because of the internet, satellite radio, and more diverse small local stations. He says that you can find exactly what kind of music you want to listen to and you don't have to rely on the top 40 lists which are decided by the people with the money to by the records (and who lived near a record store). Presumably the same thing applies to books. Will there ever be more mega-authors like Stephen King and Clive Cussler when things like fanfiction, video games, and Amazon exist to give you the exact story-based entertainment you want? Is it still possible to write something that will grab everyone? | |

| Interesting ideas. I think it's still possible to hook a huge audience though. Just look at Harry Potter - adults liked it just as much as kids. | |
